Dark Chocolate Bark recipe

You will need:

  • 12 ounces quality chocolate chips or a chopped chocolate bar (about 75% cocao content)

  • ¾ cup raw nuts or seeds (choose from almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, pistachios)

  • ¼ cup dried cranberries or goji berries

  • About ½ teaspoon flaky sea salt, optional but I really like a bit of salt on my chocolate

Method:

  1. Melt the chocolate in a heat-proof bowl set over a saucepan of gently simmering water. Don’t overdo it - the chocolate is done when it’s about 90% melted—keep stirring off the heat and the pieces should completely dissolve. (Alternately, you can melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring after each one 

  2. Cover a large baking tray with baking paper. Using a silicone or rubber spatula, spread chocolate evenly over the center area of the baking sheet (about ¼″ thickness).

  3. Sprinkle the nuts evenly over the chocolate, followed by the dried fruit. If you are adding flaky salt, crush it between your fingers as you sprinkle it over the chocolate. Lightly press the toppings into the chocolate.

  4. Either allow the tray to cool at room temp for a couple of hours or place in the fridge until the chocolate has hardened. Break the chocolate into pieces and enjoy!
